Never Obey Again and Sledeon will steal the show
With Never Obey Again from Italy and Sledeon from nearby Arnhem, we welcome the first two female-fronted metal bands to Brainstorm Festival 2025. Both bands still have to take the necessary steps in their careers, but we are convinced that they will wrap the audience in Apeldoorn around their fingers.
Evanescence, Linkin Park and Paramore are just a few bands that come to mind when listening to Never Obey Again. The band is energetic, melodic and convincing. Sledeon is a bit more subdued, playing progressive modern metal and steadily gaining ground in the Netherlands. Mix Lacuna Coil with Delain and add a touch of Vola. Sound good? It does sound good indeed!
Previously, the bands InnerWish, The Awakening, Iotunn, Within Silence and headliner Fabio Lione’s Dawn Of Victory were confirmed for Brainstorm Festival. More names will be announced in the near future.

In addition to performances on the mainstage, special shows can be seen in the accompanying theater hall. The Awakening and Within Silence confirmed
The South African gothic-rock band The Awakening and the Slovakian melodic metal band Within Silence have been confirmed for Brainstorm Festival. This means the line-up is gradually taking shape. After all, Fabio Lione’s Dawn Of Victory, InnerWish and Iotunn were previously confirmed. More names will follow in the near future.
With The Awakening, Brainstorm Festival has acquired a very special band. Last edition, frontman Ashton Nyte could already be admired solo in the theater. This year he will come with his entire band for two exclusive Dutch shows: Friday on the mainstage, Saturday in the theater. During their career, The Awakening became one of the most important export products of the South African alternative music scene. The self-titled album released last year further confirms the band’s status.
Within Silence is an old acquaintance for loyal festival visitors, although we have to go all the way back to 2016. The band released the new ‘The Eclipse Of Worlds’ at the end of 2024, which was particularly well received by the international music press. Within Silence also achieved great success in The Netherlands. This third album shows a driven band that has rediscovered itself. The energy that the Slovaks show on the new album will undoubtedly produce a great show live.

NEW CONFIRMATIONS
Both InnerWish and Iotunn play Brainstorm 2025
Both InnerWish and Iotunn are among the trendsetters of the current metalscene. Both bands released new albums at the end of 2024, and the reception was clear: these are two top-acts! Reason for Brainstorm Festival to secure both bands for the upcoming festival.
InnerWish is celebrating their 30th anniversary this year. The band emphasizes power-metal, but further colors it with progressive metal and melodic metal. The new album ‘Ash Of Eternal Flame’ also continues on that path. The band managed to secure a recorddeal with the major Reigning Phoenix Music, and with 95/100 points in Aardschok it can only be concluded that the Greeks have been reborn.
The Danish Iotunn, with singer Jón Aldará (Hamferd) behind the microphone, is the revelation of the past year. With the new album ‘Kinship’ the band is very successful. It’s subdued, it’s hard, it’s melodic, it’s aggressive: Iotunn knows how to forge a whole from all those influences. After their debut-album we already managed to get hold of the band, and with this new banger we are happy to bring Iotunn back.

HEADLINER BRAINSTORM 2025 ANNOUNCED
Exclusive NL-show of Fabio Lione’s Dawn Of Victory!
He’s a legend in the power-metal scene! In fact, Fabio Lione’s voice is the sound of power-metal! The former frontman of the legendary Rhapsody is coming to Brainstorm Festival for an exclusive show with his Dawn Of Victory. Expect an old-school Rhapsody-set, with the participation of his former bandmates Alex Holzwarth, Patrice Guers and Dominique Leurquin. How special will that be?
The 2000 album ‘Dawn of Victory’ was the third studio-album by the Italian symphonic power-metal band. In 2019, Metal Hammer declared this masterpiece the second best power-metal album of all time! So it makes perfect sense that the Italian singer wants to revive old times as Fabio Lione’s Dawn Of Victory. This will be a unique concert, and certainly not just for Rhapsody-fans. Let’s give Fabio Lione a warm welcome at the Brainstorm Festival 2025!
