THREE NEW BANDS ANNOUNCED
Fellowship and Signum Regis return to Apeldoorn
Good news for powermetal fans: Fellowship and Signum Regis are embarking on a short European tour this fall, including Brainstorm Festival in Apeldoorn. Alongside these two familiar faces, the Italian progressive rock/metal band Dark Ages will also be performing at our festival.
In just a few years, Fellowship has become a serious name in the powermetal scene. Inspired by bands like Twilight Force, Rhapsody, and Majestica, Fellowship has been building a reputation since 2019. Following an EP, their debut album "The Saberlight Chronicles, was a smash hit. They instantly put themselves on the map, and as if that wasn't enough, they followed up with a second fantastic album, "The Skies Above Eternity".
Signum Regis is returning to the Netherlands at a special moment. The band is releasing a new album this fall, and expectations are high. Moreover, the band is working on a unique lineup. It's been announced that the Slovaks were left without a singer last year. A fantastic solution is in sight and will be presented by the band later this year.
The history of Dark Ages goes back a long way, to the early 1980s to be precise. Yet, we're not dealing with an old band here. Almost all the band members joined much later, breathing new life into the Italian progressive rock/metal band. The result is an eager band that's eager to make a name for itself.
Roy Khan, Sirenia, and Wytch Hazel were previously confirmed for the Brainstorm Festival, which will be held on Friday, November 6th, and Saturday, November 7th, at Podium Gigant in Apeldoorn. In addition to performances on the main stage, there will be acoustic performances, interviews, and clinics in our theater hall. The festival also features an exhibition, a beer tasting, and a small metal market.
More artists will be announced in the coming weeks and months.

First bands announced for Brainstorm Festival 2026
Roy Khan is headlining this year's Brainstorm Festival. The Norwegian singer and former frontman of Kamelot is coming to Apeldoorn with his special ‘The Black Halo and Beyond’ show. In addition to Roy Khan’s comeback, Brainstorm Festival is celebrating with Sirenia. The Norwegian gothic-metal band has been around for 25 years and is giving a special anniversary show. The English 80’s hardrock band Wytch Hazel has also been confirmed.
The confirmation of Roy Khan can be called special. After his departure from Kamelot in 2011, one of the best voices within the melodic metal scene faded into the background. The singer converted to christianity, became a youth worker in a religious community and was only seen on the stage of churches. His return to the metalscene proves that he never left and his show will feature hits from Kamelot and new work.
Sirenia is not an unknown name for visitors of Brainstorm Festival, as the band was already headlining the festival in 2019. This time the gothic-metal band will close the Friday-evening and it promises to be a huge party: the band is celebrating its 25th anniversary! Old hits and new songs will alternate.
There will be even more joy, as Wytch Hazel is also returning to Apeldoorn. The English 80’s hardrock band has a fabulous career and has become a welcome guest at international festivals. In 2022, Wytch Hazel already performed at Brainstorm Festival, and their latest album ‘V: Lamentations’ gave the final push to bring this great band back to Apeldoorn.
Brainstorm Festival will be held on Friday 6 and Saturday 7 November at Podium Gigant in Apeldoorn. In addition to performances on the mainstage, acoustic performances, interviews and clinics take place in our theater hall. The festival also offers an exhibition, beer tasting sessions and a small metal market. Special Brainstorm-burgers are served in Gigant's café, so that not only the musical hunger is satisfied.
Early Bird Tickets are still available for purchase until Wednesday 24 December at 16.00 hour, which provide access to the entire festival against an attractive price. After that, regular sales of combination tickets and 18-min tickets will start. The sales of day-tickets will follow later.
